Penzi Weddings is a boutique wedding atelier specializing in exceptional celebrations in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We thoughtfully plan, design, create, produce, and coordinate weddings of all scales, ensuring each event is a true reflection of our client's vision, elevated with our expertise and creativity. We believe in listening deeply, understanding every detail, and transforming ideas into experiences that surpass expectations.
Our purpose is to create unforgettable moments for both couples and their guests. We are deeply committed to every celebration, offering a highly personalized approach that makes each couple feel genuinely cared for. From welcoming them into our home for private menu tastings to guiding them through every step of the journey, we blend warmth with professionalism.
With a dedicated team of 12 planners and over 30 experienced professionals, we are known for our meticulous attention to detail, seamless execution, and unwavering dedication to excellence.
2. Where are you based and which markets do you currently serve?
We are based in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and we only plan weddings in this world heritage city.
3. How would you define your positioning today?
Our positioning today is that of a leading wedding atelier in San Miguel de Allende, dedicated to crafting highly personalized, design-driven celebrations for a discerning international clientele. We operate at the intersection of creative direction, refined hospitality, and flawless execution, offering a truly comprehensive and elevated planning experience.

We do not simply plan weddings, we curate experiences that are deeply rooted in each couple’s story, while seamlessly integrating the richness of San Miguel’s culture, artistry, and sense of place. It is an honor that reflects not only our work, but also the passion, dedication, and heart that our entire team brings to every celebration. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to excellence and to creating experiences that are both beautiful and deeply personal. It inspires us to continue evolving, pushing creative boundaries, and honoring the trust that each couple places in us.

I was truly surprised, especially considering the remarkable level of talent among the other nominees. When I heard our name, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride in our team. In that moment, I thought of the long hours, the dedication, and the care we invest in every single wedding to ensure it is nothing short of exceptional. It also brought to mind the years of preparation, growth, and collective effort that have shaped who we are today.
We feel deeply honored and incredibly proud, and above all, truly happy to share this recognition as a team.
5. In your opinion, what sets a winner apart in today’s wedding industry?
In today’s wedding industry, what sets a winner apart is the ability to go beyond aesthetics and create experiences that are deeply meaningful, intentional, and seamlessly executed. It is no longer only about beautiful design, but about how every element comes together to tell a story and evoke emotion.
Excellence, from our perspective, lies in the details that are often unseen, the precision behind the logistics, the sensitivity in understanding each couple, and the ability to anticipate needs before they are expressed. It is about consistency, trust, and delivering at the highest level, time and time again. True excellence also reflects a balance between creativity and discipline: the vision to design something unique, and the expertise to bring it to life flawlessly. Ultimately, it is measured by how a celebration feels, effortless, personal, and unforgettable for everyone involved.
6. What impact do you believe your work has had on the industry?
We believe our work has contributed to elevating expectations around what a wedding experience can truly be, shifting the focus from a single event to a thoughtfully curated, multi-sensory journey.
Over the years, we have helped position San Miguel de Allende as a world-class destination for weddings, showcasing its cultural richness, artistry, and unique sense of place to an international audience. Through our work, we have also embraced and elevated the role of local artisans, integrating their craftsmanship into sophisticated, design-forward celebrations.
In terms of trends and standards, we have consistently advocated for a more personalized and immersive approach, where every detail is intentional, and every element reflects the couple’s identity. We have also set a standard for combining high-level design with impeccable logistics, proving that beauty and precision must go hand in hand. Throughout our journey, one of the key challenges has been consistently delivering at the highest level while managing the complexity and expectations that come with destination weddings. Each celebration brings unique cultural nuances, logistical demands, and emotional significance, requiring us to remain adaptable, precise, and deeply attentive.
Another important challenge has been growing and leading a team while preserving the essence of our brand, ensuring that every member shares the same commitment to excellence, care, and attention to detail. Building that alignment takes time, intention, and continuous guidance.
These experiences have profoundly shaped my growth as a leader. They have taught me the importance of resilience, clarity, delegate and trust, both in the process and in the people around me. I have learned to lead with empathy while maintaining high standards, to listen deeply, and to make decisions with both intuition and experience. Ultimately, these challenges have strengthened our foundation, allowing us to evolve with confidence, refine our approach, and continue delivering meaningful, exceptional experiences.
9. What continues to inspire you at this stage of your career?
Each couple gives me motivation, their story helps me with creativity. San Miguel, with its beauty, romantic buldings and lovely people inspire me a lot, traveling is basic for me and learning about different cultures is basic.
At this stage of my career, I continue to find inspiration in each couple we work with. Their stories, their personalities, and the way they envision their celebration naturally spark creativity and guide the design process in a meaningful way.
San Miguel de Allende is also a constant source of inspiration, its beauty, romantic architecture, and the warmth of its people create an atmosphere that fuels both imagination and emotion.
Travel remains essential to my creative growth. Experiencing different cultures, aesthetics, and traditions broadens my perspective and allows me to bring fresh ideas and a global sensibility to every celebration.
Together, these elements continue to motivate me to evolve, to create with intention, and to design experiences that feel both personal and extraordinary.
10. What’s next for you?
Looking ahead, we will continue to focus exclusively on planning weddings in San Miguel de Allende, a destination that remains at the heart of our identity and inspiration. Our commitment is to keep refining our craft year after year, elevating each celebration through greater creativity, precision, and care.
Penzi continues to grow alongside a highly professional and dedicated team, and our ambition is not only to expand, but to continuously improve, ensuring that every wedding we design surpasses the last.
On a personal level, I am excited to explore a long-held passion for textiles. This year, I plan to open a textile store, and in the future, I would love to create a textile museum to share my collection and celebrate the richness of craftsmanship and culture. Traveling for me is a must, as I love to learn about culture and history.
These projects reflect both a continuity of our values and a natural evolution, always rooted in creativity, beauty, and a deep appreciation for artistry.
11. Looking back, what advice would you give to professionals aspiring to reach this level of recognition?
My advice would be to remain deeply committed to your craft and to approach every event, no matter the size, with the same level of care, intention, and excellence. Consistency over time is what builds true recognition. It is also essential to listen to your clients, to your team, and to your intuition. Understanding people is at the heart of what we do, and the ability to translate that understanding into meaningful experiences is what sets great professionals apart.
