I'm Marisa Martins, a documentary photographer based near Lisbon, Portugal. For over 12 years, I’ve been dedicated to capturing real, unfiltered moments — the kind that tell the true story of your wedding day.

In 2023, I became official Canon Europe Ambassador and I was honoured to be named Photographer of the Year by both This is Reportage: Family and Documentary Family Photographers — recognition that reflects my deep commitment to authentic, emotional storytelling.

My approach is photojournalistic — quiet, observant, and deeply human. I like to be invisible, blending into the background so I can photograph what’s really happening, without directing or interrupting. Every tear, laugh, glance, and touch becomes part of your visual story — honest and deeply truthful.

I believe that beauty lives in the everyday moments — even (and especially) in the chaos. My goal is to find meaning and emotion in what might seem ordinary, and to turn it into images that make you feel something every time you look at them.

Beyond photographing weddings, I’m also a mentor and educator, helping other photographers develop their documentary vision.
